A Naturopath’s Guide to Winter

A NATUROPATH'S GUIDE TO WINTER:

  • Stay social and connected to friends and family

  • Don’t be afraid of the cold, get outside into the fresh air and the Winter sun

  • Cooking with herbs and spices – food as medicine, think lots of garlic, ginger, chilli, cayenne pepper, turmeric, thyme, rosemary and sage

  • Vitamin C rich foods – lots of citrus, mandarins, kiwi fruit, cantaloupe, strawberries

  • Lots of herbal tea, if it’s immune boosting, bonus! Echinacea at the first signs of symptoms, is a great start

  • Prioritise your sleep, repair and rest is required if our body is fighting something!

  • Keep your feet warm! I don’t want to see any white toes in Melbourne in Winter hahaha

Today marks the shortest day of the year, and the true beginnings of Winter.

Energetically, we are more inclined to want/need to retreat, hibernation, inward reflection and restoration. It’s a season of stillness! Winter is for reserving energy.

Immune support at this time is most important, I hope these tips can help you!

Don’t forget, Naturopathy has a lot to offer for colds and flu’s etc, so please reach out if you feel like you need extra support!
