A Naturopath’s Guide To Autumn

A NATUROPATH’S GUIDE TO AUTUMN:

Autumn, traditionally is a time of harvest, a time of turning inward and preparing for the approaching winter.

We can think of autumn as a time to organise and prepare, especially after the scattered warmer social months - where we are allowed to now slow down

- Consuming grounding foods that are easy to digest (such as soups and stews, root vegetables such as carrots and sweet potatoes)

- Warming spices for circulation and digestion, such as ginger, turmeric, cinnamon, pepper and chilli

- Immune modulating herbs such as astragalus or reishi mushrooms to support your immune system

- Eat a variety of seasonal fruit (apples, figs, mandarins, oranges, pomegranates, pears, rhubarb) and veg (broccoli, kale, cauliflower, beetroot, spinach, radish) to further support your immune system

- Focus on self care, however that may look for you - you are your priority

- Prioritise your sleep, every hour before midnight, equals 2

- Check in with your Naturopath to sort out any niggles or address any of your health concerns

Slow down, now that you can and allow yourself to embrace the season!
